Nature Heals

By Ted Nugent

Global Virus Pandemic self-quarantine day 20, and all is well.

Well, maybe not all is actually all that well, but for those of us smart enough to have learned inescapable lessons from the past, as well as can be expected.

We certainly understand the suffering of our fellow man, especially those hard-hit families with loved ones in the throes of the virus. Our daily prayer regimen has upkicked exponentially and we certainly feel their pain.

In the not-so-pleasant-or-comfortable new normal, when all is said and done, life does indeed go on, and quality of life is in the eye of the beholder now more than ever.

In all honesty, very little if anything has changed in the day-to-day activities of the Nugent household.

We were already adequately prepared for the worst that Mother Nature could throw at us, with intelligent supplies of food, water, medicines, fuel, guns, ammo, and of course that new gold standard commodity, toilet paper!

We have survived ice storms, blizzards, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, droughts, riots, economic meltdowns and panic in the streets, but we have never seen anything quite like this global catastrophe.

Watching closely the daily press conferences of this great president and the experts he has surrounded himself with, we take their knowledgeable advice and direction, and do all we can to mitigate the spread of this deadly virus.

According to a few million smart people on my daily Facebook campfire, many Americans are improvising, adapting and overcoming to a great degree, and it appears hopefully that the peak of danger will pass soon.

Meanwhile, we are busy at SpiritWild Ranch living the life we have created for ourselves with nary a hitch.

This is the time for all wildlife lovers to join the millions of American conservation families who supplement and fortify our beloved deer herd! The benefits of Record Rack supplemental feed will make your deer stronger bigger and healthier especially during this time of year. We feed them Record Rack feed year round like millions of other hunting families and the upgrade in our herd is dramatic! It makes a huge difference even on your buddies farm or your uncles deer swamp! Do it! Gityasum!

I found a goldmine of morel mushrooms the other day while shed hunting, to add to a dozen or so nice antlers.

I keep busy checking my trapline every day to mitigate the vermin scourge, the whole time as if completely removed from the painful stories on the news each day.

Treating and grooming the array of foodplots on our spring ground is good for the mind, body, spirit and soul. Down to earth and grounded is good for you!

Add to those powerful healing powers of nature, the never-ending bowhunting for exotics, hogs and varmints, and I got just what the good doctor ordered.

There is always fence to mend and feeders to repair and fill, drainages to clear and limbs to trim.

Exploring our wild grounds with our three amigo hounds Happy, Sadie and Coco provide the ultimate distraction to any and all negativity that otherwise exists.

And of course, lucky lucky me, I’ve got this arsenal of killer guitars to take me far, far away from anything that could possibly bother me. Musical journeys are total out-of-body escapes!

I have seen much evidence that many city folk are discovering the healing powers of nature in their newly aware need to get outside and reassess their otherwise hectic lifestyles and resultant anxieties.

We are not out of the woods yet (I don’t want to be out of my woods!!), and we have some very troubling and challenging times ahead.

Those of us who live the outdoor lifestyle should aggressively educate and remind our families and friends what we have known all along; that nature heals and if ever there was a time to go fishing, plant a garden, plant some trees, watch the stars, hike or get a bow and arrow, that time is now.

These are tangible remedies that I believe to be universal to mankind. Since our status quo paradigm has been basically shattered, why not review and question everything we have been doing forever, and rediscover those simple things in life that will bring much healing during these trying times.

After all, it was the status quo that got us into this mess, so toss off the shackles of all things status quo and live every day like you mean it.

Nature heals, the time is now and the price is right.
